We Choisters are living in the time of instant gratification - digital cameras, cars available to rent by the hour, chatting face to pixelated face with loved ones many miles away, books that magically appear on devices that fit conveniently in one’s purse. It seems like we can have everything, whenever we want it and however we want it. But what about how we feel? Can the same sort of instant gratification occur for our moods?

Comfort is a tricky thing. It’s something we strive for in our everyday lives― in our relationships, our home, our job and even our food. But is there a point when we have too much comfort, when having goals and aspirations seem in the distant past.

Never mind that I probably should have worried about the symbolism or psychology behind her wanting to literally label things…

Rituals are all well and good, but every night after work I take this tenet to an extreme. I’m always on the hunt.

I am horrified that I am expected to commit to something that could possibly end in decapitation by a troll’s axe, figuratively of course.
